The essay could use quotation marks wherever it refers to him, I suppose. <BR/><BR/>But that Jack is not his name--and that he does not have a name--is an excellent point. When he says, "You are not your job. You are not how much money you have in the bank..." he could just as well say, "You are not your name", because a name defines, limits, controls one's identity. <BR/><BR/>And yet, after "Jack" metaphorically dies and is reborn, the Big Moosie becomes Robert Paulson ("His name is Robert Paulson"). "Jack" sees the limitations of "Project Mayhem", the name of the destruction Tyler is unleashing.
